How to Make Vegan Garlic Sesame Wakame
  1. Soak dried wakame strips in water for 5 minutes until they’re fully rehydrated. Rinse afterward to remove any excess saltiness for a balanced flavor.
  2. Cut the soaked wakame into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add neutral oil and minced garlic, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the cut wakame, giving it a quick toss for about 30 seconds.
  5. Mix in soy sauce, sake, mirin, sea salt, and pepper. Sauté for approximately 1 minute until the alcohol cooks off.
  6. Integrate toasted sesame oil and sesame seeds; give it a good stir.
  7. Serve immediately or allow it to cool down before serving.
