Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • wooden skewers
  • Microwave-Safe Bowl
  • mixing bowl

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Soak skewers: Start by soaking your wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes. This prevents them from burning while giving you that perfect golden-brown finish.
  2. Mix seasonings: Combine the chicken seasoning mixture in a small bowl. This blend will ensure each piece of chicken is bursting with flavor!
  3. Prepare chicken: Cut the chicken into 3-inch pieces and place them in a large bowl or zip-top bag. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle the seasoning mix over the top, tossing well to coat every morsel.
  4. Assemble skewers: Pack the chicken onto each skewer tightly, ensuring there are no gaps between pieces. If any skewers are too long for your air fryer, trim them down to fit!
  5. Make sauce: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and minced garlic together until partially melted. Stir in red pepper flakes, hot sauce, parsley, and grated parmesan until everything is well combined.
  6. Reserve sauce: Scoop out 1/3 of the sauce for basting the par-cooked chicken and set it aside. Keep the remaining sauce for later; it’s a game-changer!
  7. Cook skewers: Cook 2-3 skewers at a time in the air fryer at 400°F for 5 minutes. After that, remove, flip, baste them with sauce, and cook for an additional 2 minutes at the same temperature.
  8. Final cooking: Flip the skewers back over, baste with more sauce, and continue cooking for another 5-6 minutes or until the chicken's internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  9. Last touch: Once they’re perfectly cooked, brush on a final coating of the reserved garlic sauce and sprinkle with additional parmesan for that extra touch of flavor.
