  • 1 tsp Salt Avoid direct contact with yeast.
For the Toppings
  • 2 cups Low-Moisture Mozzarella Cheese Grate it yourself for best texture.
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce Use a hearty marinara for superior taste.
  • 8 slices Thick-Cut Pepperoni Consider using pepperoni in natural casing.
  • 2 tbsp Hot Honey Mix regular honey with crushed red pepper for DIY hot honey.

Method
 

Making the Pizza
  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water and active dry yeast. Let this sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes bubbly and fragrant.
  2. Stir in the all-purpose flour, olive oil, and salt until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set it in a warm spot for about 90 minutes.
  4. Grease a cast iron skillet generously with olive oil. Carefully transfer the risen dough into the skillet.
  5. Cover the skillet and let the dough rise again for about 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 500°F (or 475°F if you prefer a non-broiled version).
  7. Spread marinara sauce generously over the dough, then sprinkle with low-moisture mozzarella cheese and arrange thick-cut pepperoni slices on top.
  8. Pop the skillet into the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  9. Once out of the oven, let the pizza cool before drizzling hot honey on top.
