How to Make Sneaky Zucchini Mac and Cheese
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a bowl, mix sliced bagel pieces with olive oil and salt. Spread on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, stirring halfway until golden brown. Set aside.
  3. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour for about a minute, then gradually add milk and 2 cups water, stirring constantly.
  4. Increase heat to medium-high, add pasta, and bring to a low boil. Stir frequently for about 15 minutes until pasta is al dente, adding extra water as needed.
  5. Stir in grated zucchini, cheddar, Havarti, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper until cheese melts and coats pasta.
