How to Make Smoked Ham with Brown Sugar Glaze
  1. Preheat your smoker to 250°F and load it with cherry wood chips.
  2. Coat a disposable aluminum pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Sprinkle the BBQ rub all over the exterior of the ham, covering it entirely.
  4. Place the pan with the ham in the smoker and let it cook for one hour.
  5. Continue to smoke the ham for another 2-3 hours, basting every 30-45 minutes with apple cider.
  6. Check the ham's temperature; it is done when it reaches 140°F.
  7. Make the glaze by combining butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, and remaining apple cider in a pan.
  8. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 6-8 minutes until thickened.
  9. Brush the glaze over the ham, transfer to a platter, and garnish before serving.
