For the Salmon
  • 4 fillets Salmon opt for wild-caught
For the Glaze
  • 2 tablespoons Butter or Olive Oil use olive oil for a lighter option
  • 1/2 cup Orange Juice fresh squeezed recommended
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or maple syrup for a twist
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce low-sodium is healthier
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) use fresh for best flavor
Optional Thickening
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch omit if not desired

Method
 

Cooking the Salmon
  1. Heat butter or olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Place skin-side up in the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Flip the fillets carefully and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  4. Remove salmon from the skillet and tent with foil to keep warm.
  5. Whisk together orange juice, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and cornstarch slurry (if using).
  6. Lower the skillet heat to medium and combine the mixture.
  7. Cook the glaze until hot, stirring frequently. If using cornstarch, allow it to thicken for 30-60 seconds.
  8. Return the salmon to the pan, coating with glaze. Add optional orange slices for garnish.
