  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard Gives a slight tang that brightens the overall taste of the turkey.
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper A hint of heat that balances the sweetness of the marinade.
For the Liquid Mixture
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar Provides acidity to tenderize the turkey and enhance flavors.

Method

Instructions
  1. In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, ground mustard, and cayenne pepper. Stir until fully blended, creating a fragrant spice mixture.
  2. Generously apply the spice mixture all over the turkey breast. Make sure it’s evenly coated for maximum flavor.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the apple cider vinegar and liquid smoke until well combined.
  4. Place the coated turkey breast inside a resealable plastic bag. Pour the vinegar and liquid smoke mixture over the turkey, sealing the bag tightly while removing excess air. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
  5. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  6. Take the marinated turkey out of the bag and place it on a roasting pan. Roast it for about 1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for about 20 minutes.
