Burger Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken with garlic powder, ground ginger, onion powder, salt, panko breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix thoroughly, then cover and chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- In a saucepan, heat a tablespoon of cooking oil over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Then, add soy sauce, water, sugar, honey, and ginger. Stir in cornstarch mixture and simmer until thickened.
- Once chilled, fold in 3 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce into the chicken mixture. Form into 4 patties.
- Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side, basting with reserved sauce.
- Combine shredded cabbage, mayonnaise, vinegar, and sugar in a bowl. Toss well.
- Assemble burgers with a chicken patty, teriyaki sauce, and creamy slaw on brioche buns.
