Ingredients
  

For the Rice
  • 2 cups Basmati Rice Rinse five times until water runs clear
  • 1 tablespoon Salt Essential for enhancing flavor
  • 6 cups Water Needed for cooking the rice
For the Herbs
  • 1 cup Fresh Herbs Equal parts coriander, dill, and parsley
  • 3 pieces Spring Onions Chopped finely
For the Tahdig
  • 1 piece Lebanese or Arabic Flatbread Forms the crispy bottom layer
  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil Helps brown the tahdig
For Flavoring (optional)
  • 1 whole Whole Head of Garlic Roast alongside the rice if desired
  • 1 teaspoon Bloomed Saffron Soaked in warm water beforehand
  • 1 tablespoon Advieh Persian spice mix, optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by removing the stems from the parsley and dill, then finely chop all fresh herbs along with the spring onions.
  2. Rinse the basmati rice at least five times in water until it runs clear, then boil it with salt for 10-15 minutes until al dente.
  3. In a non-stick pot, add olive oil, layer flatbread, rice, herbs, and garlic, repeating until ingredients are used.
  4. Insert chopsticks into the rice to make six holes for even steaming.
  5. Wrap pot lid with a towel and cook on low heat for about 30 minutes.
  6. Once cooked, flip the pot onto a platter, cut portions, and serve hot.
