- Start by cutting the tomatoes in half and scooping out the seeds and pulp. Dice the flesh into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Add the freshly minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, pepper, and balsamic vinegar to the diced tomatoes. Stir well to combine all the ingredients and then refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
- Slice the Wheat French bread into about half-inch thick pieces, and spread softened butter generously on each slice.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the bread slices until they are golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes.
- Top each toasted slice of bread with a generous spoonful of the tomato mixture. Serve immediately.
