  • 4 medium Tomatoes ripe, heirloom varieties recommended
  • 2 cloves Garlic freshly minced
  • 1 cup Basil fresh
  • 1 teaspoon Salt sea salt recommended
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper freshly ground black
  • 2 tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar high-quality preferred
For the Bread
  • 1 loaf Wheat French Bread or gluten-free bread
  • 4 tablespoons Softened Butter or substitute with olive oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting the tomatoes in half and scooping out the seeds and pulp. Dice the flesh into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the freshly minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, pepper, and balsamic vinegar to the diced tomatoes. Stir well to combine all the ingredients and then refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
  3. Slice the Wheat French bread into about half-inch thick pieces, and spread softened butter generously on each slice.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the bread slices until they are golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Top each toasted slice of bread with a generous spoonful of the tomato mixture. Serve immediately.
