Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, yeast, salt, sugar, and Italian seasoning. Pour in warm water and olive oil, kneading until a smooth dough forms.
- If you’re not using quick-rise yeast, let the dough rise for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Once the dough is ready, roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cute heart shapes.
- On the center of one heart-shaped cutout, place a small spoonful of pizza sauce, followed by mozzarella, cheddar, and pepperoni.
- Brush the edges of the dough with water, cover it with another heart shape, and seal the edges with a fork to secure the filling.
- Arrange the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 14-17 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- Allow to cool slightly before digging in.

Notes
Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping. For best results, reheat calzones in the oven rather than using the microwave.
