For the Steaks
  • 2 medium Kohlrabi or turnips if unavailable
  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil or avocado oil for a milder taste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or use minced garlic for fresher flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme or fresh thyme if preferred
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika optional
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Freshly Ground Pepper best if fresh
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley for color and fresh taste

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel the kohlrabi and slice it into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
  3. In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, rosemary, oregano, and smoked paprika.
  4. Brush each kohlrabi steak generously with the marinade and season with salt and freshly ground pepper.
  5. Lay the kohlrabi steaks in a single layer on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes, turn them over, and continue roasting for another 10-12 minutes until tender.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the steaks rest for a couple of minutes; garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
