Making the Bread
- Combine warm milk, yeast, and honey in a stand mixer bowl; let sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- Add eggs, flour, and salt; mix until smooth, about 4-5 minutes. Adjust flour as necessary.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise at room temperature for 1 hour.
- Mix shredded cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, Italian herbs, and grated garlic in a separate bowl.
- Punch the risen dough down and roll out to a 12 x 18 inch rectangle on a floured surface.
- Sprinkle the cheese-herb mixture evenly across the dough.
- Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log and pinch the seam to seal.
- Slice the log in half lengthwise and twist the halves to expose the filling.
- Coil the twisted dough into a circle and transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter before serving, if desired.
