Ingredients

For the Dip
  • 1 cup Small Pepperoni Add spicy, meaty flavor; substitute with turkey pepperoni for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup Genoa Hard Salami Provides a robust taste; prosciutto can be used for a different flavor.
  • 1 cup Thin Ham Contributes a mild, savory component; most deli ham works well here.
  • 1 cup Provolone Cheese Offers a creamy texture and mild flavor; mozzarella or cheddar are great alternatives.
  • 1 medium Red Onion Adds a sharp bite and crunch; sweet onion can be used for a milder taste.
  • 1 cup Pickled Banana Peppers Introduces acidity and mild heat; jalapeños can be included for extra spice.
For the Creamy Base
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise Acts as the base for creaminess; Greek yogurt can serve as a healthier substitute.
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Enhances creaminess and tang; a dairy-free yogurt can work as an alternative.
  • 2 tablespoons Pickled Pepper Juice Optional but adds depth and tanginess; omit or substitute with vinegar.
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning Infuses herby flavors; homemade blends can replace store-bought.
For the Crunch
  • 1 cup Iceberg Lettuce Adds freshness and crunch; any salad greens can be used instead.

How to Make Italian Hoagie Dip
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the diced pepperoni, salami, ham, provolone, red onion, and pickled banana peppers. Stir well until all the meats and veggies are evenly distributed.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, Italian seasoning, and optional pickled pepper juice until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the creamy dressing over the meat and cheese mixture. Gently toss everything until the ingredients are well coated.
  4. Just before serving, fold in the chopped iceberg lettuce to retain its fresh crunch.
  5. Serve the dip with an assortment of dippers like tortilla chips, crackers, pita bread, or fresh veggies.
