How to Make Heart Shaped Brownies
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  3. Whisk in the granulated sugar, espresso powder, and eggs after removing the pan from heat. Add the vanilla extract and flaky sea salt, whisking until well combined.
  4. Fold in the all-purpose flour gently with a spatula until just combined. Then add in the chocolate chips and most of the M&Ms.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the reserved M&Ms on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking the doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Cool the brownies completely in the pan before lifting them out and cutting into heart shapes.
