How to Make French Strawberry Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch round pan and place parchment paper at the bottom.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whip the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the large eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the pure vanilla extract.
- Begin to alternate adding the flour mixture and sour cream, starting and finishing with the flour.
- Gently fold in the roughly chopped fresh strawberries using a spatula.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and sprinkle a little sugar on top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan before serving.
