How to Make ABC Soup
- Bring a large pot filled halfway with water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add the diced pork and boil for 3-5 minutes until scum surfaces, ensuring a cleaner broth.
- Discard the cloudy water and rinse both the meat and pot to eliminate impurities. Return the meat to the pot, ready for the next delicious step.
- Toss in the carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, corn, and onions along with 10 cups of water.
- If using the stovetop, cover and bring everything to a boil on medium-high heat. Then, reduce to low-medium heat, simmering for 1 ½ to 2 hours while skimming off any scum from the surface occasionally.
- For a quicker option, seal the lid and valve on your pressure cooker and cook on high pressure for 45 minutes.
- Skim the soup to remove any oil or scum that surfaces. Season your comforting pot of ABC Soup with chicken bouillon powder and salt to your liking.
- Ladle the soup into bowls, garnishing with finely chopped green onions for a fresh finish.
