  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce Low sodium recommended, or use tamari for gluten-free.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Balances the savory soy sauce; can substitute with sugar.
  • 1/2 cup Water For diluting the marinade.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Boil the eggs in a pot of water for 6 minutes for soft-boiled eggs. Optionally add vinegar for easier peeling.
  2. Transfer the boiled eggs to an ice bath for about 5 minutes to stop the cooking process.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the onion, garlic, green onion, chili pepper, sesame seeds, soy sauce, honey, and water to make the marinade.
  4. Crack and peel the cooled eggs under running water.
  5. Place the peeled eggs in an airtight container and pour the marinade over them until submerged.
  6. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight for best flavor.
