How to Make Spiced Pomegranate Sorbet
  1. Prepare Spiced Simple Syrup: In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, sliced lemon, and the cinnamon stick, star anise, and cardamom pods. Heat gently, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  2. Create Sorbet Base: Mix your cooled spiced syrup with the fresh pomegranate juice in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for several hours, ideally overnight.
  3. Blend (optional): For an even smoother texture, pour the sorbet base into a blender and blend for about 3 minutes.
  4. Churn: Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Freeze: Transfer the churned sorbet into an airtight container and freeze it for at least four hours.
  6. Optional: Serve with fresh mint leaves for a delightful garnish!
