Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 1 cup Almonds Can substitute with walnuts or pistachios.
  • 1/2 cup Honey Use agave syrup for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Consider cardamom for a twist.
Phyllo Dough
  • 1 package Phyllo Dough Gluten-free phyllo is available.
  • 1/2 cup Butter Melted coconut oil can be used as a dairy-free alternative.
Finish
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Optional for dusting.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and toast the almonds for about 10 minutes. Chop finely and mix with honey and cinnamon.
  2. Thaw the phyllo dough overnight in the refrigerator. Unroll carefully and cover with a damp cloth.
  3. Brush one sheet of phyllo dough with melted butter, layer another on top, and place a tablespoon of filling at one end. Roll tightly, sealing edges with butter.
  4. Place cigars on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush tops with melted butter and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Heat remaining honey and brush over warm cigars. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes
