Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry and cut it into 3x3 inch squares on a lightly floured surface.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and optional lemon juice. Stir until smooth.
  4. Place about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese filling in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Gently fold the corners of each pastry square toward the center.
  6. Brush the edges of each pastry with a beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Allow the danishes to cool slightly before drizzling with the glaze.
  9. Serve warm with coffee or tea!
