For the Bread
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour This forms the base of our Honey Beer Bread, providing the perfect structure.
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder This helps the bread rise, giving it a light and fluffy texture.
  • 1 tsp kosher salt Just a pinch enhances the flavors and balances the sweetness.
  • 12 oz beer The star ingredient that adds depth and richness; choose a lager or ale for the best results.
  • 5 Tbsp honey This adds a touch of natural sweetness and moisture to the bread.
  • 3 - 4 Tbsp melted butter Spread some melted butter on top for a golden, crispy crust.

Equipment

  • 9x5-inch loaf pan
  • mixing bowl
  • oven

Method

How to Make Honey Beer Bread
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and take a moment to lightly spray the sides of a 9x5" loaf pan.
  2. Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir until combined, then pour in the beer and honey, mixing until no flour streaks remain.
  3. Prepare the loaf pan by adding half of the melted butter to the bottom. Tilt the pan gently to coat the surface evenly.
  4. Transfer the batter to the pan, spreading it out evenly. Pour the remaining melted butter over the top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool the bread in the pan for 5-7 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to finish cooling.
