Method
 

How to Make Chocolate Granola
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, melt the coconut oil in the microwave if solid. Add maple syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Stir in old-fashioned rolled oats until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in a compact layer, about 1/4 inch thick. Avoid stirring during baking.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes, rotating halfway through. The granola is done when golden brown and aromatic.
  6. Allow to cool completely on the baking sheet without stirring. Once cooled, break into pieces, fold in dark chocolate chips and a sprinkle of sea salt if desired.
