How to Make Chocolate Granola
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, melt the coconut oil in the microwave if solid. Add maple syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Stir in old-fashioned rolled oats until evenly coated.
- Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in a compact layer, about 1/4 inch thick. Avoid stirring during baking.
- Bake for 25 minutes, rotating halfway through. The granola is done when golden brown and aromatic.
- Allow to cool completely on the baking sheet without stirring. Once cooled, break into pieces, fold in dark chocolate chips and a sprinkle of sea salt if desired.
