  • 500 grams Oyster Mushrooms Fresh and firm
  • 1 cup Plain Flour Gluten-free option available
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Powder Or smoked paprika for flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Substitute with fresh garlic if desired
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder Shallots can be used fresh
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Adjust for spice preference
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Kosher salt recommended
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cracked Pepper
For Frying
  • 2 cups Oil for Frying Canola, peanut, or sunflower oil
Optional Dipping Sauces
  • 1 cup Creamy BBQ Sauce Mix mayo, BBQ sauce, and apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup Sriracha For added flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by wiping the oyster mushrooms gently with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the plain flour with all the spices and stir well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk ⅓ cup of the flour mixture with ¾ cup water until smooth.
  4. Dip each mushroom in the wet batter, then roll in the reserved flour mixture.
  5. Heat your oil over high heat until it reaches about 350°F.
  6. Carefully drop mushrooms into the hot oil in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  7. Once fried, remove mushrooms and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  8. Enjoy your Fried Oyster Mushrooms immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
