How to Make Fried Capers
- Add vegetable or olive oil to a small saucepan, filling it about ⅛ inch deep.
- Gently warm the oil over medium heat until it shimmers, reaching about 350°F.
- Carefully drain the capers from their brine and pat them dry with paper towels or a kitchen towel.
- Toss the dried capers into the hot oil in batches, ensuring they have enough space to fry evenly.
- Fry the capers for about 2-3 minutes, or until they become golden brown and crispy.
- Using a slotted spoon, carefully take the fried capers out of the oil and let them drain on a paper towel.
- Allow the capers to rest for a few minutes before using.
- If there's any left, store the fried capers in a covered container at room temperature for several days.
