Cooking Steps
- Prepare the Steak: Place thin-cut sirloin steak strips in a mixing bowl. Add egg, cornflour, salt, black and white pepper. Toss until beef is evenly coated.
- Cook the Beef: Heat 3 tbsp of sunflower oil in a large frying pan or wok over high heat. Fry coated beef in batches for 5-6 minutes until dark brown and crispy; drain on kitchen paper.
- Sauté Aromatics and Sauce: In the same pan, reduce heat and add 1 tbsp oil. Sauté onion for about 2 minutes, then add red chili, ginger, and garlic. Cook for 30 seconds, then mix in rice vinegar, soy sauce, tomato puree, sugar, ketchup, and sweet chili sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Combine and Serve: Return crispy beef to the pan, toss in the sauce, and heat together for another 1-2 minutes. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
