Directions
  1. Cook the Noodles: Cook the frozen udon noodles according to the package instructions, reserving ½ cup of noodle water before draining.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: In a large pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 3 cloves of minced garlic and 2 chopped shallots, cooking until fragrant.
  3. Incorporate Gochujang: Stir in 3 tablespoons of gochujang and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Add Creamy Base: Gradually pour in ½ cup of heavy cream and reserved noodle water, followed by 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of gochugaru.
  5. Simmer the Sauce: Allow the sauce to simmer for about 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Combine Noodles and Sauce: Toss the cooked udon noodles into the sauce, ensuring each noodle is coated.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve hot, garnished with grated parmesan cheese and chopped green onions.
