- In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and unsalted butter; beat until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle in shredded sharp cheddar cheese and mix until evenly distributed.
- Gradually add all-purpose flour, salt, and optional garlic powder; stir until a soft dough forms.
- Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop out 1-inch balls of dough, roll smooth, and place 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
- Gently indent the center of each ball with your thumb.
- Spoon about ½ teaspoon of hot pepper jelly into the center of each indented ball.
- Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack; garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
