  • 1 teaspoon Paprika adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil or Butter for greasing the baking dish

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • oven

Method

Directions
  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing it with olive oil or butter.
  2. Brown the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef along with the chopped onion. Stir occasionally and drain excess grease once it's browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Sauté the flavor: Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika to the beef mixture, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.
  4. Mix in creaminess: Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and milk until well blended, creating a smooth sauce.
  5. Layer the potatoes: Thinly slice your potatoes to about 1/8 inch. Place half of them on the bottom of the greased baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture, and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese. Repeat this process with the remaining potatoes and beef, finishing with a hearty topping of cheese.
  6. Cover and bake: Loosely cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes.
  7. Uncover and crisp: After 60 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the cheese on top is bubbling and golden brown.
