Method

Basic Directions
  1. Preheat Oven: Start by setting your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for your cheese bread masterpiece.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and optional garlic powder and herbs. Stir until well mixed to create a dry blend.
  3. Add Cheese: Gently fold the shredded cheese into your dry mix, ensuring that the cheese is evenly coated for delectable cheesiness in every bite.
  4. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together milk, your choice of vegetable oil or melted butter, and egg until smooth and creamy.
  5. Mix Together: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture. Gently combine until just mixed; be careful not to overmix for a fluffy texture!
  6. Prepare Loaf Pan: Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  7. Transfer Batter: Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top for an even bake.
  8. Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool: Once baked, allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Slice & Serve: Use a serrated knife to slice your warm cheese bread, and enjoy it fresh out of the oven or with your favorite spread!
