  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
For the Seasoning Blend

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder Optional, for a touch of heat.
For the Braising Liquid
  • 2 cups Beef Broth Choose low-sodium for better control.
  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce Sweet smokiness; use your favorite.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard Adds a slight sharpness.
For Caramelization
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar For irresistible sticky glaze.
  • 1 medium Onion Sliced, to intensify flavor.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced, to enhance taste.

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • large skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • Non-stick pan

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Pat the brisket dry. Mix salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder in a bowl, and rub this seasoning blend generously all over the meat.
  2. In a large skillet, heat up olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket for about 2-3 minutes on each side until it’s golden brown.
  3. Place the seared brisket in a slow cooker. Pour in the beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, sliced onion, and minced garlic. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  4. Once cooked, carefully remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Use forks to shred the meat into bite-sized pieces.
  5. In a pan, combine butter, brown sugar, and a little of the beef drippings. Toss in the shredded brisket and quickly sauté for a couple of minutes until everything is beautifully caramelized.
  6. Serve your caramelized pulled beef brisket right away, served on a soft brioche bun, in tacos, or over creamy mashed potatoes.
