  • 2 pieces Sourdough Demi Baguettes You can substitute with a traditional French baguette if preferred.
For the Filling
  • 4 large Eggs No substitutions recommended.
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream Do not replace with milk.
  • 4 oz Pancetta Feel free to swap with cooked bacon or sausage.
  • 1 cup Gruyere Cheese Could substitute with Swiss or cheddar.
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onions Chives can easily replace them.
  • to taste Salt Key for enhancing flavors.
  • to taste Pepper Key for enhancing flavors.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the baguettes by cutting a deep 'V' into the tops and hollowing them out carefully.
  3. Sprinkle shredded cheese at the bottom of each hollowed baguette.
  4. Whisk together the eggs and heavy cream in a bowl and mix in the pancetta, remaining cheese, green onions, salt, and pepper.
  5. Fill each baguette alternately with the egg mixture.
  6. Place the filled baguettes on a baking sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Cool for 5 minutes after removing from the oven.
