  • 0.25 onion Onion Sliced lengthwise
  • 1 stalk Green Onion Cut into 2-inch pieces
Seasoning ingredients
  • 2 teaspoons Sea Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Gochugaru Can substitute with other chili powders
  • 2 teaspoons Fish Sauce Can substitute with vegan fish sauce
  • 1 clove Garlic Very finely minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ginger Grated fresh
Garnish ingredients
  • 2-3 teaspoons Toasted Sesame Seeds For a beautiful finish

Method
 

Preparation steps
  1. Soak the sliced onions in a bowl of ice-cold water for about 5 minutes.
  2. Quarter the apples, remove the core, and slice them into ~⅛-inch thick pieces.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the sliced apples, green onions, and drained onions.
  4. Sprinkle the sea salt, gochugaru, fish sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger over the apple mixture.
  5. With clean hands, gently massage the seasoning into the apple slices.
  6. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and serve immediately or refrigerate in a glass container.
